Whale Shark in Anawangin Cove Zambales

If you haven’t experience boat riding, well going to Anawangin Cove is the right choice. You can go to Anawangin Cove by land, but this is only for people who can resist long hours of open field trekking. Boat ride is still the best choice.

Allow me to tell you a story. We had great boat riding experience the second time we went there. You know what, on our second day, from Anawangin Cove going to Capones Island, our bangkero (boatman) suddenly stopped on the middle of our trip; all of us wondered and asked why he stopped. He said “May nalampasan tayong Butanding (we passed by on top of a whale shark)”. So we decided to turn back to see the whale. We were really amazed on what we saw.

This is not the actual picture, but the skin is similar to this picture

The boatman stopped the engine; it’s true, a mid-size whale sharp is exactly there at the bottom of our boat. I think that was just 4-5 meters deep from our boat. It’s not moving and we can see its huge back. We were five in the boat, including the boatman. Some of them took pictures, but it’s not clear. By bad, I haven't manage to get a clear picture too, but during that time we can see its huge head and the tail, maybe two times longer than our boat. After some few minutes of looking down, the boatman decided to start the engine again, maybe it’s because one of the passenger insisted “Kuya, tara na! Baka gumalaw pa yan, itaob ‘tong bangka natin.” So he immediately starts the engine and we headed to our destination, in Capones Island.

Also last 2009, when we went to Anawangin Cove with these group from AIG, who also availed a 2 days anawangin tour package, they saw hunk actor Sam Milby with actress-singer Bea Alonzo. If I remember it correct, that was the time when they are shooting the movie "I Love You So" with Derek Ramsey, but Derek is not there during that time.

Here are the pictures of our happy and lucky customers with Bea Alonzo and Sam Milby.

Anawangin cove is a simply but an amazing beach cove. Imagine when you're there, you're facing the beach and when look at your back, fine trees! It's like you're in Bora or you're in Puerto but when you looked back you're already in Baguio. Perfect weekend getaway for officemates and barkadas.

Being there in Awawangin Cove is really a cool weekend getaway for us especially to our newly found friends from Laguna. You just need to prepare yourself just like them. Why? You will experience a 20 to 30 minutes of local boat ride (depending on water condition). Pwede ka magbaon ng gamot kung ikaw ay isang taong byahilo (kung madali kang mahilo dahil sa alon). But look at the picture below. Ganda diba? If you want to see this amazing view, you also need to stretch a little bit because it will take few minutes of trekking before you rich the view deck. But when you're there already, you will never miss to take pictures with this at your background. (Tyak! inggit si classmate or si officemates sa'yo)

We need these once or twice a year. Well, if you can afford, you can have it anytime you want. Don't go anywhere else. You can find many beautiful beaches here in the Philippines. We will recommend Anawangin Cove. Anawangin plus island hopping in Capones and Camarra is perfect place to go.

Anawangin Cove The Boracay meets Baguio Experience

Pristine and secluded, the beach of Anawangin Cove is fast becoming a popular tourist destination near the Subic, Zambales area. Surrounded by pine trees and carpeted by volcanic white sand from Mt. Pinatubo's eruption, Anawangin cove looks like a winter scene in the tropics. The sands are very fine and the beach is wide. During low tide, the beachfront becomes longer and the waters are calm, making it ideal for swimming. It's Boracay meets Baguio Experience.
